Teaching

Charles is an Emeritus Professor of Playwriting at the University of California – Riverside. He has also taught or guest lectured at Yale University, Carnegie Mellon University, Whitman College and Emerson College among others.

He presents talks on subjects such as: Writing in Hollywood, History of the Drama, the relationship between the military and popular culture, the History of Spying, Arts in Early America, Travel and Creativity, the Business of Writing and many other subjects.

When available, Charles offers script consulting services, rewrites on existing scripts and one on one coaching for writers, actors and directors. These sessions are usually presented in Zoom format.
